My name is Andros Zacharia aka Mr Z (zee). Currently living on the island of Cyprus. I am an accountant, speaker, performer and actor. I have been working in the corporate industry for over 15 years, but for as long as I have been working with numbers, things never really “added” up, it never resonated with me at my core. Until a catalyst showed me a different path, a path I never expected, one that included speaking and performing in front of audiences.
Before I tapped into Slam, someone recommended public speaking. I joined a local organisation who did exactly that. I remember the first time I spoke in front of an audience, it was an enlightening moment, as I discovered something meaningful, a gift. Up until this day, I speak professionally as well as coach individuals. In 2019, I came 3rd at the International Speaking Competition in Europe. In 2022, someone else suggested I sign up and compete at the National Championship of Slam Poetry.
I had no idea what Slam was about until that specific day. I knew it had to do with poetry, so I just amended something I wrote in the past, lo and behold that night I was the first runner up. In 2023 i was again the first runner up, however in 2024 and 2025 I won the National Slam Championship.
I also represented Cyprus twice at the European Slam Championships. Rewind back to the days of school, I was a student who was just about passing his subjects, and when it came to writing and speaking, I lacked tremendously. I would always be distracted, living in my imagination, an imagination that could not be put to good use as it never fell within the school curriculum. Today the same imagination is used to do what i do in front of audiences; To entertain and win hearts.
